A Chinese New year Entry just like everyone else but different

I can start with a dozen of topics. but let me start with New Year Eve dinner

So what is New Year eve dinner like in 2008 ? Yeah.. a bunch of people getting together playing with their handphone and talk about how nice/bad the food is. Thats actually in a nut shell for many many reunion dinner these days.

It used to be adults asking us " you primary what ah ? sec 4 right ? " these kind of question. But now.. it is like " wow.. ur phone what model ah ? can take video right ? "

Somehow being asked about school is more meaningful than talking about handphone models. Well this is so true and well sad in a sense but we accept it and live with it for another 364 days.

I think thats why i remain quiet as much as i can to refrain from being so "lame".

Reunion dinner afterall is a time where family get together and see each other . An excuse to ask about each other how each other is. Important but very subtly important.

Anyway... 2008... reading news paper.. i think it is not a very good start to the year. Economy is not doing well. thats one thing. but enough to worry people. i'd say just take it lightly , keep ur job and just cruise along by improving yourself as usual. It is the attitude and outlook that we take that makes the year. so i think a new beginning is just what everyone needed to just start something. we may not finish it but at least we have a good excuse to start something. it is a subtle motivation. modern city people live like that. new year is to make starts. year end is an excuse to make newer starts. always new. always something. we look forward and forgot abt what we started off wanting .. cycle.. repeat 70 yrs and die ? perhaps...

not important.

so what should i talk myself into this year ? year of rat... i think i have not got anything new. just cruise around will be good. to keep to the ideas i have and thats fine for now . until some changes come by .. :)

nothing inspiring. but i think this entry is plain jane enough to blast myself into this new year. happy new year mr yen.
